Banking Codes & Schemes

The Association initiated the adoption of various Banking Codes through interbank cooperation and consultation with third parties. They were drafted in line with relevant EU Directives and national regulations. The Codes are regularly evaluated to monitor actual implementation and possible amendment requirements.

The following banking codes are currently in existence:

	Code of Banking Conduct Banks aim at promoting good banking practice standards.
	Housing Code Voluntary Code of Conduct on pre contractual information to be given to consumers by lenders offering Housing Credit
	Deposit Protection Scheme Protection of depositors and their reimbursement in the form of compensation
	Code of SMEs Code of Conduct between Banks and Small and Medium Size Enterprises (SMEs)
	ICF for Bank Customers Investor Compensation Fund for Clients of Banks (ICF)
	Switching Personal Accounts Code of practice on Switching Personal Accounts between Banks
